- 2004 – 2005: Clinical Fellow in Neuroradiology, Massachusetts General Hospital
Supported by:
The NIH, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and industry.
Research:
Translational research in molecular imaging to study, detect, and track inflammation in neurological and neurovascular diseases such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, glioma, and Alzheimer’s disease.
Notable contributions to science:
- Molecular imaging agents (MRI, PET, fluorescent) targeting myeloperoxidase, a highly oxidative enzyme overexpressed in inflammatory conditions
- Preclinical evaluations to understand the effects of modulating myeloperoxidase activity to improve stroke, glioma, and multiple sclerosis
